  >Artist's Bio

Katrina Weber paints in oils, watercolor and pastels, and her subject matter is as varied as her media.  “I find beauty in just about everything aroundme, and I am struck many times a day with visions that I want to capture.”

“My goal is to transcend the literal without losing touch with reality.  My great-uncle, Erich Heckel, was a member of the German Expressionist group
“Die Brücke”, and I am influenced by my early exposure to his artwork and the books about Expressionism that my father kept about the house. I alsofeel a kinship with some of the Califor nia Impressionists.” Katrina views
her art as being a life-long development, and reads, visits galleries, and attends workshops on an ongoing basis.

Katrina’s work has been shown at numerous venues in Alabama and Tennessee, and she has received a number of awards and recognitions. She has held six
solo exhibits and participated in over a dozen group shows during the past five years, and been included in numerous juried shows. Her paintings hang
in corporate and private collections across the U.S.
